Post #11 8/8 to 8/13 - Last Trip Before Alex Returns to College

We wanted to have one last RV trip before Ales returns to college (he had not been with us in this new coach). Knowing that Rincon Highway only allows 5 day stays, we decided to go Tuesday night and hope to get a spot. Were we so wrong..... all spots were taken! After trying for several hours driving up and down, we gave up and were going to try again the next morning.

But... we did not want to drive home and back so I parked in Ventura Harbor launch ramp parking lot for the night.

Mileage when we left.

So I was hoping I could go to sleep and get up early and find a spot. However, after a little while the Harbor Patrol came knocking on the door....I kept quiet and already had all the shades down so it was all dark..... I was really paranoid. But they left so I got up at 4:45AM to head for Rincon.

So I was truly blessed to find the only spot open... 5 more minutes and someone would have got it.

Awesome spot.

So I worked from this site all day Wednesday.

So now I found a guy that will come to Rincon Highway and wash your RV!

My view while I worked!

Perfect weather.

Sun coming up down the beach Friday morning but we were still in the shade. It was a really cool site to watch.

Audra and I went on 2 walks this day, one on the sand and another later in the day down to Mondo's beach and back.

Alex joined us for Friday night.

Saturday morning special pancakes!

 Crazy squirrel.

Post #10 July 4th Trip - Pala Casino

So we decided to head somewhere for July 4th but since we did not make reservations soon enough in advance. However, we did find 1 spot available at Pala Casino in Temecula CA. We had never been there before so it was a new adventure. One piece of advice, don't always listen to your navigation system because it may take you down a twisty turvey road while pulling a towed car.

Mileage when we left.

Really nice place, clean and new.

Had a nice site.

We were able to enjoy a great fireworks display from the top of the parking lot.

We just happened to be close to Oceanside so we met up with some family and had a great dinner.

All good things must come to an end. Time to leave.

Post #9 Next Trip - Rincon Highway, Flying Flags & back to Rincon Highway! 6/19-6/23

June 19, we decided to work remotely at the beach so we took a chance and got really lucky and found an open spot at Rincon Highway in Ventura. The spot was at the sea wall so during high tide the waves would crash over the wall so you had to keep your distance. It was still great.

Mileage when trip started:

Great day at the beach!

Nice view from my office!

The next day we met up with family and headed north to Flying Flags in Buelleton, CA. We spent the next few days here.

New lights working great.

We decided to stay another night at Rincon Highway one more night.

One thing we forgot.... you can only stay 5 consecutive nights at Rincon Highway.  Since we stayed 1 night a few days ago, when you leave... you are supposed to stay away for 14 consecutive days before you return, this is regardless of how many days you stay up to the maximum.

We woke up to a ranger knocking on our door reminding us that we were just there Monday night... YIKES. We packed up and went to day parking and worked remotely for the remainder of the day. It was still a great day.

Post #8 Upgrades! New LED Lights!

I had Newmar install a 12 volt light circuit under the awning. I had to do a it of custom installation but it also turned out great.

More upgrades. I was able to install LED lights under the passenger side slides so we can have indirect lighting at night.
